Salts Mill, Saltaire is set in the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Saltaire. Built in 1853 by Sir Titus Salt, the Grade II Listed historic mill building contains four comprehensive art galleries including the 1853 Gallery, which altogether feature over 400 works by David Hockney.

Yorkshire Sculpture Park: Set in the beautiful grounds and gardens of a 500-acre, 18th century country estate, is one of the world's leading open-air galleries, presenting a changing programme of international sculpture exhibitions there is always something different to see.

Oakwell Hall Country Park and Countryside Centre: This Elizabethan manor house has delighted visitors for centuries. The formal 17th century garden has recently been restored, with box hedging planted in geometric patters, inspired by the wood and plaster designs inside the Hall. Beyond the gardens are 100 acres of Green Flag award winning country park featuring a visitor centre, cafe, adventure playground and nature trail.

National Media Museum: a fabulous free museum in Bradford, West Yorkshire devoted to film, photography, TV, radio and the web.

The National Coal Mining Museum for England: a great day out with an opportunity to travel 140 metres underground down one of Britain's oldest working mines.

National Trust Marsden Moor Estate: 6,000 acres of open moorland, unspoilt valleys, reservoirs, peaks and crags. Home to a rare variety of wildlife and a wealth of industrial archaeological remains. Public footpaths and Pennine Way give easy access to many peaks, crags, reservoirs and valleys.

Ogden Water Local Nature Reserve designated a Local Nature Reserve in 2003 , Ogden Water offers numerous woodland trails and waterside paths to explore, birdwatching and picnics; all with stunning views.

Newmillerdam Country Park, Wakefield: this attractive country park offers a rich and varied country landscape, dominated by a large lake ringed by numerous trees where you can find wildlife habitats.

Digley Reservoir, Holmfirth: lies just north of Holme and nestles into the north-east flank of Black Hill, which looms above it. It's a local beauty spot with good views down towards Holmfirth. Digley offers an invigorating walk, running along lanes, fields and over open moorland accommodating wide ranging views of the reservoir and surrounding countryside.
