HOLMFIRTH
Last of the Summer Wine: the world's longest running TV comedy filmed in the picturesque town of Holmfirth. Visit the exhibition inside Compo's house, where there's a collection of photographs and memorabilia and a tea room next door, or opt for a guided 10 mile tour of the area.
KEIGHLEY & WORTH VALLEY RAILWAY, HAWORTH
The Railway Children: is a children's book by Edith Nesbit, originally published in 1906. It has been adapted for the screen several times, of which the 1970 film version is the best known and everyone's favourite Yorkshire-set steam train tale.
Housewife 49: a television drama written by and starring English actress and comedian Victoria Wood based on the wartime diaries of Nella Last. Shot at North Light Studios in Huddersfield and Keighley & Worth Valley Railway. It won two British Academy Television Awards in 2007.
SLAITHWAITE & MARSDEN
Where the Heart Is: a popular heart-warming drama series about the lives and loves of a small Yorkshire community established itself as one of ITV's top programmes. Filming took place in the Colne Valley villages of Slaithwaite and Marsden, which together become the fictional village of 'Skelthwaite'.
The League of Gentlemen: The infamous 'local shop' which featured in the comedy series was constructed as an artificial set on the hills above Marsden.
OAKWELL HALL, BIRSTALL
Wuthering Heights: a new adaptation of Emily Bronte's epic novel was aired on ITV August 2009. Oakwell Hall is one of the main locations. Charlotte Bronte was a regular visitor and Oakwell Hall featured as Fieldhead, the home of the heroine in Charlotte's novel, Shirley. Lost in Austen also filmed here.
THE PIECE HALL, HALIFAX
Brassed Off: bitter-sweet comedy in which a Yorkshire colliery is faced with closure - and so is the town's brass band. The Piece Hall is a Georgian masterpiece built by the merchants of Halifax in 1779 which now houses many speciality shops and art galleries.
OTLEY
Emmerdale: Television soap set in Yorkshire where some of the filming takes place in Otley, which is known as Hotten in the programme - Harewood
Heartbeat: set in a fictional town called Aidensfield in the 1960's - it is mostly filmed in the North York Moors, but the police station scenes are filmed in Otley.
DEWSBURY
Emmerdale, A Touch of Frost & The Darling Buds of May: all featured Dewsbury Town Hall's authentic Victorian interior.

The Bad Mothers Handbook: from the novel by Kate Long, this film starring Catherine Tate was shot in and around Huddersfield and Otley.
